NATIONAL MURAL DAY
Client: Pabst Blue Ribbon, Hope Campaign
Services: Mural, Custom Lettering
Location: Austin, TX
In May of 2019, I was asked to participate in the first ever National Mural Day in partnership with Pabst Blue Ribbon and Hope Campaign. PBR is committed to making art available to everyone and inspiring America's doers, change-makers and creatives through art. Murals are the most accessible form of art, and PBR wants to encourage artists, landlords and civic institutions to collaborate on creating new murals in their community. Myself and two other local artists each painted new pieces on the old La Bare building downtown. What once was an eyesore on a prominent corner of our city is now home to 3 new public art pieces. My piece aims to add a bit of southern charm to a highly visited area of downtown. Tourists and locals alike can enjoy its nod to our culture down south.
